Welcome to another year of FSO! This year is bound to be the best year yet with our upcoming fashion shows, new videographer, and countless new members bringing their own unique style to our wonderful club. With the new year comes new board members! This year we have a wonderful panel of ladies ready for a successful and fashionable year. We wanted to introduce you to our board this year and share some fun facts about their dream jobs, majors, and MORE!

Meet Clair: President of FSO

Majors & Minors:  Senior in fashion merchandising minoring in sustainability and marketing.

Biggest Fashion Inspiration:  I am more influenced by culture. Whenever I travel to a new place I try to get a feel for what the locals are wearing and give it my own twist.

Dream Job:  To develop an employee benefit program similar to the GAP PACE program or Ann Care's from Ann Inc. I want to make sure that garment workers all over the world are treated respectfully, make fair living wages, and are provided the opportunity to learn valuable skills and lessons to make them more independent, healthy, and financially stable.

Favorite Things To Do in Your Free Time:  Hiking, running, roller blading, if it's outside or on wheels, chances are I am doing it.

What I'm Most Excited For In FSO This Year:  I am so excited for another year of creativity and talent showcased at all the FSO fashion shows and events.

Meet Lexi: Vice President

Majors & Minors:  Junior in Fashion Merchandising with minors in Marketing and Fashion Media.

Biggest Fashion Inspiration: The entire Man Repeller team can swap clothes with me anytime.

Dream Job:  Any position with American Eagle??? Please and thank you!

Favorite Things To Do in Your Free Time:  I love to take the time to get creative - knitting, sewing, thrifting, shopping…. you name it!  Also, I really love to EAT!

What I'm Most Excited For In FSO This Year:  I am most excited to mentor our newest officers and make new memories!!

Meet Abby: Vice President (Studying Abroad)

Majors & Minors:  Junior fashion merchandising major with a minor in fashion media.

Biggest Fashion Inspiration:  I've been completely obsessed with Vanessa Hudgens' wardrobe forever, but I also love Danielle Bernstein of WeWoreWhat's style as well!

Dream Job:  Someday I really want to get involved in trend forecasting- working for WGSN or Doneger would be my dream job.

Favorite Things To Do in Your Free Time:  In my free time I love writing and going to concerts, and since I'm spending this semester in Europe, eating at the best restaurants or traveling!

What I'm Most Excited For In FSO This Year: Even though I won't be in Kent to experience FSO in person this year, I can't wait to see how the board and members pull together the most amazing fashion shows!!

Meet Serena: Board Member at Large

Majors & Minors:  Senior in fashion merchandising with a marketing minor.

Biggest Fashion Inspiration: While Michael Costello is my favorite designer, I’d have to say that Jeremy Scott is my biggest inspiration when it comes to pursuing a career in fashion. If you haven’t seen Jeremy Scott: The Peoples’ Designer yet, do it, and you’ll see why :)

Dream Job: I don’t have a set “dream job”. All I know is that I want to end up at a company that truly values its employees and have a position where I’m excited to go to work every day. I’m a firm believer in the saying that if you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life. I also wouldn’t be opposed to an office that lets you bring your dog to work.

Favorite Things To Do in Your Free Time: My favorite thing to do in my (very rare lol) free time is nap :)

What I'm Most Excited For In FSO This Year:  I’m most excited to meet all the new FSO members and welcome them to the greatest place on earth aka Kent State of America!!!! FSO has encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone in so many ways and take on responsibilities I thought I’d never be capable of. I’ve been able to learn so much about the fashion industry and network with some truly incredible people through the organization and I’m just so jealous of all the freshmen who get to experience this now and have the best 4 years of their life right ahead of them!!

Meet Autumn: PR Coordinator

Majors & Minors:  Sophomore in fashion design with a marketing minor.

Biggest Fashion Inspiration: Alexa Chung & Mick Jagger. I have a tendency to be inspired by icons who often look like they just rolled out of bed but in a ~fashion~ way.

Dream Job: Designing tailored menswear/ stage-wear for musicians (preferably while I'm living in England).

Favorite Things To Do in Your Free Time:  Listen & experience Live Music, drink coffee, collect records and vintage shop 24/7.

What I'm Most Excited For In FSO This Year: Having the creative freedom to bring a lot more to our social media platforms as well as getting to design all the marketing for our awesome fashion shows! And getting to work with a new PR team as well as my fellow AMAZING board members!

Meet Ashlynn: Secretary

Majors & Minors:  Sophomore in fashion merchandising with a French minor

Biggest Fashion Inspiration: I have several fashion inspirations I can’t pick just one!

My street style inspiration is Beyoncé because she has such a fearless fashion sense.

My reds carpet inspiration is Lupita Nyong’o.  She has rocked every color under the sun, never over-accessorizes and is always the best-dressed on the red carpet.

Finally, my classic film fashion inspiration is Audrey Hepburn.  Frequently and flawlessly dressed by Givenchy and Edith Head, Hepburn and her ensembles have become iconic and the epitome of classic elegance.

Dream Job: Realistically, I would like to become a fashion director for Kate Spade (my favorite brand).  If we’re talking in my wildest dreams, I would like to be a Hollywood actress because it combines my love for film and acting as well as fashion.

Favorite Things To Do in Your Free Time:  I am a total movie buff. I love watching classic films from Old Hollywood (1929-1969) and critically-acclaimed films from today. I also play for the tennis club and I attend performing arts productions on campus.

What I'm Most Excited For In FSO This Year: We put on so many great events, but I would say I’m most excited for the Art of Contrast fashion show.  That was a great experience!

Majors & Minors:  Sophomore in fashion design with a minor in sustainability.

Biggest Fashion Inspiration:  For the moment Zendaya Coleman.
