Fashion Student Organization Kent State University

Well that’s all folks! What an amazing semester it has been for FSO, which all began with the Soroptimist Fashion Show and ended with the spectacular Kent Clarks, FSO has made quite a lot of memories so far this school year. Today’s post is to commemorate the last meeting of the year as well as share all of the great memories made during this fall semester of FSO.

This was my first semester in FSO, and in my opinion I couldn’t imagine being apart of a better organization. Personally, my favorite moment this semester was participating in my first fashion show. I had a blast being apart of the press team and capturing the show backstage. FSO has not only made a huge impression on me this semester, but on many of its members as well. Delaney Huesgen said her favorite memory from this semester was the internship panel. She went on to say, “I really liked how I was able to hear from so many people about various experiences. They had a good balance of different types of internships and in different sectors of the fashion industry. I left the meeting and felt very excited about my future internship endeavors.” The internship panel was a chance for FSO members to get any questions answered from those students who had previously held internships as well as hear from students on the DOs and DON’Ts of the city, managing school and work, and lastly the reality of interning.

It’s that magical time of year where we swap our shorts for sweaters, flip flops for boots, and chokers for scarves. This fall explore all the Fall activates the Kent and surrounding communities have to offer.

Tree City:
Go beyond the PSL this autumn. Here in Kent, Tree City offers various fall flavors including Maple Macchiato, Apple Pumpkin Chai and Midnight Mocha. They even offer Adult Only fall beverages including RumChata Root Beer Float and Washington Mule.

Beckwith Orchards:
Pick some juicy apples or get those steps in on the Portage County Hike and Bike Trails.

Dussel Farms:
Located in Brimfield, Dussel Farms & Feed Store offers pumpkins, a corn maze, and a haunted bus for their Fall Pumpkin Festival.

Hudson Haunted House:
20 minutes from campus a dark and mysteries house sits upon a hill…no but really, the Hudson Jaycees present “The Monster of all haunted houses” open until October 29.

Einstein’s Attic:
This antique and vintage clothes shoppe on Cherry St. is an awesome spot to craft your Halloween costume.

Happy Autumn from FSO!

It's fall! Cooler temps, cozy sweaters, suede ankle boots, Pumpkin Spice lattes...we could go on and on about all the reasons we love fall. To tell the truth though, fall fashion is probably the main reason, but how does one wear their favorite tee now that it's a bit chilly? Well, FSO challenged five members to style their favorite tee (their #FSOLove one obviously) and to show us how they rock their #FSOLove. FSO also took to Instagram and asked you to show us how you style your #FSOLove t-shirt, and we loved all of your outfits! Lauryn-Ashley Solomon chose fierce army camo pants and a tailored blazer, and was chosen as the winner of the Style Your #FSOLove contest. Congrats Lauryn! Lauryn got to join our fellow #FSOLove models and together we had an amazing time capturing everyone's unique personal style.
Whether you choose to pair your #FSOLove tee with a statement necklace, blazer, or skirt, there are plenty of different ways to style your #FSOLove.
